Hiring Now for August-October
If you enjoy working in a varied environment, keeping active, and working with the rhythms of the seasons, you might be a good fit for our team at ME & Moore and Evenfall. Our employees come from many different backgrounds with a range of skillsets, but we all share fundamental core values: a strong work ethic, a willingness to help each other and work as a team, and an eagerness to learn new skills or hone existing ones.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2024 season. Please note that farm stand positions will most likely start at the end of July at the earliest.
A note on availability: Ideal candidates are available through the majority of our season (particularly August through October), with no significant planned absences. We rarely hire high-school students due to schedule conflicts in September since week-day work is usually required. Please do not apply if you will be unavailable for significant portions of August and September.
The ideal candidate is:
Trustworthy, hardworking, and takes pride in doing their best.
Self-motivated to move quickly and efficiently complete the task at hand.
Energetic and able to work fast and efficiently on both time-sensitive and/or sometimes repetitive tasks.
Someone with good attention to detail who can observe, ask questions, and learn quickly on the job.
Someone who enjoys farming, gardening, and/or cooking with or preserving fresh produce, or has an interest in learning more.
Respectful of others, professional, and helpful to co-workers and customers.

Farmstand Employee
For farmstand employees, customer service is key. Primary duties in this role include: cashier, restocking produce and product displays, answering the phone and customer questions, directing u-pickers, prepping produce for sale, and some light tidying and housekeeping like sweeping and wiping down counters. Someone with a passion for cooking, local food, preserving, homesteading, and gardening would particularly enjoy this position. Our customers love to talk produce and recipes!
Timeline: This job is seasonal and typically starts in July or August. The position is part-time and ideal for someone with flexibility in their schedule. The number of hours will decrease toward the end of our harvest season, with the job ending as early as November 1.
Requirements: The position requires some heavy lifting and significant time spent walking and standing. Ideally, candidates would be comfortable lifting 20-50 pounds.
Availability: The farmstand schedule can vary in the early and late seasons, but the typical open hours by late-July/early-August are Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The ideal candidate is willing to work Saturdays, as well as our two other busiest days: Mondays and Fridays. We are hoping to hire someone who will be available through the majority of our season (particularly August through October), with no significant planned absences (multiple vacations, etc.), though we can be flexible with schedule changes due to university starting, etc. We rarely hire high-school students due to schedule conflicts in September. Please do not apply if you will be unavailable for significant portions of August and September. The position can be filled by multiple people with part-time availability.
Field Worker
This position is very physically demanding and is ideal for those with a passion for physical fitness and working outdoors. Primary duties in this role include: harvesting a range of different crops, hoeing weeds, thinning orchard fruit, pruning, and a range of other “odd jobs” around the farm. Harvesting is often time sensitive, so it’s critical that field workers be comfortable working efficiently. If you enjoy moving your body, it’s very rewarding work!
Timeline: The majority of the field work occurs during our primary harvest season in mid-July through the end of October. Candidates must be available for the majority of this time period. If you have an interest or experience in orchard work, we sometimes have seasonal work available in the winter and spring as well.
Requirements: Brian, one of the owners of Evenfall, often logs 20,000+ steps per day during the harvest season. Field workers must be energetic and able to safely perform all physical requirements of the job that may include lifting, carrying heavy loads, extensive walking, bending, and other activities that raise the heart rate.
Availability: During the busiest part of the harvest season (mid-July to late-September),the ideal candidate can work early in the morning (often starting at 7 a.m.). Part-time applicants will be considered, but when our farmstand is open during the harvest season, morning availability Monday-Saturday is desired. The position could be filled by one full-time employee or multiple part-time employees. Typically, we expect candidates to be available through the majority of our harvest season, with no significant planned absences (multiple vacations, etc.), though we can be flexible with schedule changes due to suniversity starting, etc. We rarely hire high-school students due to schedule conflicts in September. Please do not apply if you will be unavailable for significant portions of August and September.
